The three-day curfew declared by the Abia State Governor, Okezie Ikpeazu, has paralysed business activities in Aba and Umuahia.

A trader at Ariaria Internationmal Market in Aba, who spoke Hotnewsnaija .com on the phone, said many shop owners did not open for business as a result of the fear of the unknown.

It was gathered that the heavy presence of soldiers who are stationed at the Osisioma junction, the entrance point; and other strategic locations in the commercial city has been a deterrence.

Another resident of Aba who spoke to our correspondent however said there is calm in the city, adding that civilians were made to raise their arms as they cross military check points.
