Obviously this practice was not only among the Efik people as some Northern part of the country is observed to be into this practice.
After the abolition of the killing of twins on 18, Jan. 1855 by Mary Slessor of Scotland, several decades later this practice has resurfaced, but this time it’s happening in the nation’s capital and with other sister offences such as child mortality and the act of sacrificing impaired Children to gods.
