Davido, whose real name is David Adedeji Adeleke, is a Nigerian singer, songwriter, and record producer. Davido was born on November 21, 1992, in Atlanta, Georgia, United States. He comes from a musical family, as his father, Dr. Deji Adeleke, is a businessman and his late mother, Veronica Adeleke, was a university lecturer. Davido’s passion for music developed at a young age, and he started his musical journey during his time at Oakwood University in Alabama, where he studied Business Administration.
In 2011, Davido returned to Nigeria and ventured into the music industry, releasing his debut single, “Back When,” featuring Nigerian rapper Naeto C. The song quickly gained popularity, and Davido’s career took off from there. He followed up with a series of hit songs, including “Dami Duro,” “Aye,” “Fall,” and “If,” which solidified his status as a leading figure in the Afrobeats genre.
