PRESIDENT TINUBU TO SUPPORT GRASSROOT FOOTBALLERS

Stakeholders in Nigeria’s sports sector have called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to look into the nation’s sporting activities in a bid to revitalising it to regain the lost glory

 

 

Speaking at Tawari football scouting competition in Kogi state, they want Nigeria’s government to focus on developing footballers, especially at the grassroots

The competition is put together by KelPrince International sports academy to identify and develop footballers in Kogi local government of Kogi state, he added that there is a need for backward integration of youth to reduce rural-urban migration as much as reducing youth restiveness.

The initiator of the project Mr Nathan Bawa is optimistic that this will bring out the best in Kogi state

 

 

 

 

He said:
This initiative is borne out of the passion to see our youth out of the street and doing well in society, this will put Kogi on the map of the world when in times of football.

Other dignitaries at the grand finale are the vice chairman of Kogi Local government Hassan Jezhi, Comrade Daniel Onjeh who was the APC senatorial flagbearer for Benue South 2023 among others.

They are hopeful that events such as this will aid football activities thereby bringing about national cohesion.
