FCT RESETTLEMENT PLAN: A MIRAGE OR REALITY?
Natives of Sabon Wuse a resettled community from the federal capital territory to Niger state have lamented over what they describe as a mirage and deceit in their resettlement to New Wuse in Niger State.
Despite being relocated from the land of milk and honey as they call it, their ancestral home in the present-day federal capital territory is being sold for the high and mighty while they are yet to recover from the trauma of being evicted from their ancestral home.
A visit to the palace of the district head of New Wuse (SabonWuse) with a walk around the community could leave one in tears.
They also lamented ill-treatment by their host- the Niger State government, as the lands allocated to them for farming purposes have been taken over by the government.
With all of these, and while FCTA plans for further resettlement of other indigenous communities, what is the fate of those to be resettled?
